Richard Batt has a long and varied history as a content writer and as a performer.

Richard Batt started as a professional wrestler under the name of “Pop Sensation” Jayson Mayson. His debut took place on the FXW show “Blood, Sweat and Beers” at the @rena in Middlesbrough in a losing effort against Bad Ass Brooks. The bulk of Jayson Mayson’s matches took place for Teesside promotion 3 Count Wrestling, regularly appearing between 2004-2006 and in 2010. Jayson is no longer a regular active performer but he has occasionally appeared in recent years for White Tiger Wresting and Great British Wrestling.

Richard Batt made his stand up debut in 2010 in the “Make ’em Laugh” competition which took place in South Shields. Since then he has appeared at various venues around the UK to great reactions.

Richard Batt also co-ran the comedy club All Jokes Aside between 2010-2013. This successful comedy club organised top quality comedy in Middlesbrough events which gave new comedians an opportunity to hone their craft. Comedians like Lee Kyle and Fran Garrity made some of their early appearances on All Jokes Aside shows before going on to put on successful tours around the UK.
